Please read the following rules and regulations carefully before submitting your work to the Kyoto Independent Film Festival.

Eligibility
Entries should be music videos, films or documentaries released from 2024 onwards.

Who Can Submit
Nominations can be submitted by any associate of the program.
Eligible associates include hosts, producers, production companies, studios, channels, networks, web platforms, sponsors, managers, agents, publicists, representatives, distributors and device systems.
By submitting a program or content, the entrant warrants that they have the authority to do so, including all relevant licensing and permits.

Submission Process
- To submit a nomination, please complete the Entry Form.
- On the Entry Form, an online link should be provided where the judges' panel can view, hear or review a sample of the entry. In the case of films, an online screening site is acceptable.
- All nominations submitted should be accompanied by the Entry Fee. Nominations not submitted with an Entry Fee will not be reviewed. Duplicate entries will not be refunded.
- All entries must be in English, either native, dubbed or subtitled.
- Music videos must be under 8 minutes in length.
- For short films, the maximum running time is 40 minutes.
- A micro-short film is considered a film that is less than 5 minutes.
- By submitting a film to our Festival, the filmmaker confirms that they hold all necessary rights to the film and authorize its presentation within the festival environment.
- Once a submission has been registered, the entry fee is non-refundable.
- The Festival has complete independence and freedom in selecting films. If a film is selected, the Festival office will contact the entrant by phone or email.
- The Festival does not provide feedback or screening notes for entries that are not selected.
- This Festival is organized voluntarily by a group of volunteers. Our team aims to respond to filmmakers as quickly as possible, within a maximum of three days.
- We accept films of all genres.
- Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted. Each entry must be accompanied by a separate submission and a separate entry fee.

Additional Terms
- The Submitter warrants that all rights, licenses, clearances and releases for all audio and archival film or video used in the production have been secured or are unnecessary.
- The Submitter warrants that relevant appearance releases for all people featured in the submission have been secured or are unnecessary.
- The Submitter has obtained all appropriate rights and clearances for copyrighted materials.
- The Submitter has obtained all required approvals, clearances, licenses and permissions for the use of the program material contained in the submission and will provide such clearances if requested by the Festival.
